Christmas Bride

A whirlwind courtship, a Christmas wedding Holly’s life seems full of promise until her attempt to become a heroine in her own right ends in a terrible conflict of loyalties that could wreck her marriage!
To save her marriage, must she risk her brother’s life? All of her life, Holly has dreamed of adventure and heroics. Indeed, she would far rather be a spy for the British against Napoleon, like her twin brother, Noel, than make her London debut. That is, until she meets Hunt, the handsome Marquess of Vandover. After a whirlwind courtship, they are married on Christmas Eve–Holly’s (and Noel’s) birthday. Holly is deeply in love, and her new husband’s career in the Foreign Office allows her to rub shoulders with diplomats and ambassadors, feeding her love of adventure. The future seems full of promise until her inept attempts to assist her husband in his career–and become a heroine in her own right–leads her to trust the wrong person. Suddenly Holly is plunged into a terrible conflict of loyalties, where she must choose between saving her nearly-broken marriage–and her beloved brother’s life!

Hungers of the Heart

Drake is a Killer vampire.
Unlike the Guardians of the Night, Drake feeds on human blood, choosing victims who deserve to die. But still he works with the Guardians to protect those humans who yet have some good in them.
When Gabriel, the leader of the Baltimore Guardians, mysteriously disappears, Drake finds himself in charge of a small band of inexperienced fledgling vampires. When a delegation of European Killers arrives in Baltimore looking for Gabriel, Drake must call on all the savagery of his sordid past to keep the Guardians in line—and to protect them from the ruthless Killers.
Forced to confront a past he has tried so hard to outrun, Drake risks losing his humanity. His only hope is Faith, the French Seigneur’s concubine, who desperately needs his help to rescue her human sister from the Seigneur’s clutches. Then someone begins killing the members of the European vampire delegation, and Drake is the only suspect. Will Drake be saved by love, or will he become a Killer without a conscience?

Interview with the Author

Q: Is this story a prepper guide?

A: No. There are things these families do along the way to prepare for what lies ahead—and some practical advice, I am told by my readers. There are plenty of other books that are dedicated to prepping.

Q: Are these people Navy Seals, Special Forces, or hardcore preppers?

A: No. The point of the story is to imagine what average people would do when faced with the loss of everyday technology. The characters are us, all of us—flawed, good, bad, tough, and weak; tenacious, resourceful, hopeful, caring, and ruthless when needed. What would ordinary families do when faced with no electricity, no cell phones, no grocery-store food, no online deliveries or trash service, running water, heat, air conditioning, few running vehicles, and no appreciable law enforcement? What are their limits? What are yours?

Q: I heard there is praying in your books. I don’t like to be preached to.

A: Yes, there is some praying in my books, as I believe those who are in danger daily tend to sort out their beliefs rather quickly. No, there is no preaching, as I am not qualified to do so.

Q: What am I getting out of this 7-volume series?

A: An epic story and wild ride, from Volume 1 all the way through Volume 7. This series may make you laugh, cry, contemplate, understand the risks, think about being more prepared for the unknown, tell your family you love them more, be thankful for all we have in this crazy, adventurous world—and, most of all, feel and dream. My hope is that you find yourself thinking of these characters long after you’ve read the last page of each book.
* * *
Q: Is there a dog in this series?

A: Of course! There are two: Ringo and Mini. Don’t worry; as a fellow author once said, “Never kill the dog!”

Q: What do you do with bad reviews?

A: I read them to my kids and we all have a good laugh.
