Inventive science fiction/fantasy. "The Battle for Laurone" by Steven Allen is a creative sci-fi/fantasy tale. The author does a fine job building an imagined world through character conflict, then launches full scale military confrontations as the novel progresses. Allen's attention to detail kept me turning the pages. I like the book cover art too; it really grabbed my attention with the electric colors.
