"A high action page-turner set in a Maine winter, this Ike Hamill bio-thriller is the perfect Saturday afternoon heart thumper."

Jake stands there, stunned, as Andrew chambers a round. The rifle is pointed right at the running man. Every hunter has a story of an expedition gone wrong. This one is about to take a fatal turn, and there is nothing that Jake can do but watch.

The rifle fires.

From horror author Ike Hamill, Spores takes you on a journey you'll never forget. It's a tale millions of years in the making, and you'll never imagine where it will land.

The four men are out on a simple hunting trip. It’s supposed to be a chance to unwind and get away from all the stress of work and family. But when Andrew looks through the scope and sees what’s running at him, he acts decisively. Back at the cabin, Leonard and Patrice have their own problem. They hear the sound of the snowmobile and rush to the window. They look out in time to see the machine streaking across the lake, and then it’s gone.

When Marie appears, everything somehow gets much worse.

A hot July sun burned into the dried needles of the annual Christmas tree at the Lock 3 Amphitheater in downtown Akron. Weeds wove chaotic pathways around the dead branches that were adorned with faded red bulbs and rocking horses. The city had been abandoned and left for the Earth to reclaim.

Under the decay and dust were secrets that would soon be uncovered the day Anna returned home.

What would you do if it were just you and your son during the zombie apocalypse? This is exactly the situation David Johnson has to endure. It is four weeks into the apocalypse, and with his wife and daughter still missing, David is doing his best to keep it together and look after his seven-year-old son Harry. But as the days go by, this task is proving to be getting more difficult. With many obstacles getting in David’s way to protect his son, like avoiding thugs and trying to keep hydrated and fed, he has decisions to make in order for he and his son to survive long term.***********************A message from the authorPlease read before downloadingIn October 2014, I decided to write a little book inbetween the Snatchers series (a little tradition of mine) and began writing a story about a father and son that were trying to survive in the Zombie apocalypse. I called it Dead DayzIn December 2014, I decided to ditch the first draft and concentrate on a new Snatchers book, Snatchers 5: The Dead Don’t Yield. I didn’t like the finished Dead Dayz, but some individuals who had read the book liked the father and son story, so I decided to incorporate it into the fifth Snatchers book. The story was about David Johnson and his son, Harry, (Paul and Kyle Dickson), and I saved the best bits from the Dead Dayz book and put it into the Snatchers book. The following you are about to read is the original Dead Dayz book. If you have read the Snatchers series, then this book still has many parts/chapters that you haven’t read before, but the story will certainly be familiar. And if you haven’t read the Snatchers series before, then everything I have talked about doesn’t matter. Dead Dayz was initially a standalone novel, before it was dissected for the Snatchers 5 book that was eventually released in February 2015, and it seemed a shame to leave it sitting on my hard drive in its original form.

Description:

The first four books in the epic are here.

Dark Recollections
That day, and in the days that followed, billions died. At midnight, across the globe, the undead scourge awakened. It didn't matter how they died; the dead walked, and their hands and teeth sought human flesh to rend and tear.
Adrian Ring survived. Sure, he had to kill his mom in the process, but he at least got to save Otis, his cat.
Now he lives with the guilt over the one task he didn't do, hiding in the small town school he worked at. He gets to scavenge, and loot, and put the dead down to stay alive, but is it all meaningless?
If hiding and waiting to die was all that would be, why bother?
He begins writing his journal, trying to find some meaning in a seemingly hopeless existence. He needs to find a reason to live other than merely existing.
A reason to laugh other than at his own chaotic life story.
He needs to find redemption in a world ruined by the vengeful dead.
This is his journal. This is his story.

Alone No More
The crushing cold of the first winter after the rise of the dead looms large, starving or freezing the less fortunate.
Yet Adrian persists, and as he loots the houses in the countryside, he meets Gilbert Donohue, an elderly Army vet who could be dangerous, or could be the first step on his path to salvation. They form an uneasy friendship, but it's threatened when a family of survivors fights their way through the zombie-infested world to take shelter at Adrian's fortress at Auburn Lake Prep.
Among the members of that family is a familiar face to Adrian.
In the group following them, there are only unfriendly faces.

Handshakes become gunshots, and the undead are seething to taste the flesh of the living. Sometimes in the cold of winter, the only thing that can keep you warm is freshly spilled blood.

Midnight
Tap-tap-tap went the zombie on the bridge.

Life has become more dangerous for Adrian as he survives the zombie plague. It wasn't enough for the tyrants of nearby Westfield to follow Abby and her family to ALPA on Christmas Eve. They want what Abby's family had, and now that they know about Adrian and his sanctuary, they want all of what he has too.

Drawn into a war he didn't start, surrounded by thousands of hungry dead, he must sort friend from foe. But that's no easy task when everyone seems to be out for themselves. As his struggle unfolds we learn more about the apocalypse across the world. We see the death of mankind through other eyes, and the biggest question of all is answered;

Why.

Why have the dead returned? Why are they killing the living? Why do survivors only dream of the dead? What has humanity done to deserve the unleashing of such evil, and what role does Adrian play in this game?

At Midnight, we find out.

The Failed Coward
A sinister darkness now casts its shadow across the world, and Adrian now suspects he's the center of the maelstrom. But he's not alone. Overseas, far from family and safety, his old Army buddy Kevin also stands at his side.

At Auburn Lake, Adrian and his adopted family now know that the dreams they've suffered since the end of the world are more than restless imaginings. When a thousand dead arrive holding books high, can it be anything but a message from beyond the grave? Soon they will learn that what the dead say can be worse than what the dead have done.

But that can't stop Adrian. He must continue to help strangers as he can, and navigate the eroding sanity of the populace while the savage zombies roam, exacting out the will of darkness.

In the end, everyone may need Adrian's help.

Fans of Bobby Adair, Mark Tufo, Shawn Chesser, Javan Bonds, John O'Brien, Sarah Lyons Fleming, David Simpson and T.W. Piperbrook have enjoyed Adrian's journey. Join them on this quest to save the world, and Adrian's soul.
