Emily’s Evil Ghost

Tom Roberts has been aware from childhood that mysterious events once occurred at his grandfather’s remote country house, but has no idea of exactly what happened there. The Archers

Priced low to introduce you to a great series of books. Arrows fly, swords clash, nobles and church men are gulled out of their coins, and the French and Venetians are successfully blamed for things they did not do. This is the first book in Martin Archer’s exciting and action-packed saga of Cornwall’s Company of Archers at the dawn of Britain’s military supremacy and the beginning of its great merchant companies. It is an enjoyable and sometimes witty read that sticks pins into the church and nobility along the way. The on-going saga of the Company of Archers is set in dangerous and gritty feudal England during a time when there was great upheaval in Britain as the barons rose against the king, the Saracens were lashing out against the Christians for breaking a truce, and Islamic pirates from the Barbary Coast were fighting for control of the Mediterranean. This is British and English historical fiction at its action-packed best. It will appeal to readers who enjoy books such as The Game of Thrones and authors such as Bernard Cornwell, Jeffrey Archer, C.S. Forester, Griff Hosker, Peter Darman, and Jerry Auteri. This exciting novel is not politically correct. It is, however, a very good read. The next book in the continuing saga is “The Archers’ Castle.” It is followed by “The Archers’ Return” and more exciting tales as this great Medieval Times saga continues. The entire first six books of the saga are collected in one great Amazon eBook as “The Archers’ Story.” The next four novels after that are collected in “The Archers’ Story: Part II.” And there are even more. They will delight the fans of Bernard Cornwell, Jerry Auteri, C.S. Forester’s Hornblower, and George MacDonald Fraser’s Flashman.

The Rhino Keeper

?? Named a 2025 Kansas Notable Book ??
Winner of the Midwest Book Award for Cover Design

Before The Porcelain Menagerie, Jillian Forsberg introduced readers to the dazzling and dangerous world of 18th-century Europe in The Rhino Keeper—a sweeping tale of wonder, obsession, and the fragile line between curiosity and control.

Based on the true story of a Dutch sea captain who toured the continent with an Indian rhinoceros named Clara, The Rhino Keeper brings to life an age when science, art, and spectacle collided in breathtaking—and sometimes perilous—ways.

2022 — College student Andrea Clarkson uncovers a centuries-old mystery in Holland: strange documents, a carved rhinoceros on an ancient grave, and a secret buried deep beneath the earth. What she finds will challenge her understanding of history—and of herself.

1740 — Ship captain Douwemout van der Meer possesses what no European has seen in generations: a living rhinoceros. Together, he and Clara travel across Europe, thrilling peasants and queens alike. But when devotion turns to obsession, and admiration to fear, Douwe must face the limits of his own wonder.

Among those enchanted by Clara is a young artist named Johann Joachim Kändler, whose porcelain creations capture the creature’s grace—and whose ambition will one day take center stage in Forsberg’s companion novel, The Porcelain Menagerie.

Narrated by Caroline Hewitt, The Rhino Keeper evokes the marvel of discovery and the danger of desire. Continue the journey with The Porcelain Menagerie, also from History Through Fiction—where the artist who sculpted Clara’s likeness becomes the master of a court built on fragile beauty.
