The Alboran Codex

A library older than history, sunk beneath the sea. A language no human was ever meant to read. And an ancient council that has waited two thousand years to reclaim what Carter Devereux found first.Archaeology professor Carter Devereux has smuggled home a treasure beyond price; thousands of metallic sheets inscribed by a lost civilization of giants, holding the accumulated knowledge of a people who walked the earth tens of thousands of years ago. But the sheets are only half the secret. To read them, Carter and his team must first learn to speak with the one living species that still remembers the giants’ tongue: the dolphins of the open ocean. As the translation races ahead, the shadow Council of the Covenant of Nabatea — heirs to an empire the Romans believed they had erased — close in on Freydís and everyone Carter loves. The trail of the giants’ library leads at last beneath the waves of the Alboran Sea, to a drowned city at the gateway between two worlds, where the truth about humanity’s origins is waiting to be raised — or buried forever. Because there is nothing new under the sun, and some have never stopped searching for what the rest of us forgot.Fact or fiction? Giants in scripture and worldwide myth, the startling cognition and communication of dolphins, drowned settlements beneath the Mediterranean, and the real lost kingdom of Nabatea all anchor a story that keeps you guessing where fact ends.Perfect for readers of James Rollins, Clive Cussler, Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child, and Dan Brown.Book Three of the Carter Devereux Mystery Thrillers.
